Aegina - Athens' Beloved Island Escape

Aegina is a historical Cycladic island steeped in centuries-old maritime tradition and is the beloved escape of the Athenians.

The Temple of Aphaia, which forms an isosceles triangle with the Acropolis of Athens and the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, is also located in Aegina. Landmarks like the Saint Nectarios Monastery, the Apollo Temple at Kolona and the historic medieval village of Paleochora, with its fascinating chapels, are examples of its rich history. The city of Aegina consists of charming little streets and neoclassical homes. Visitors can enjoy the sea, go on carriage rides, discover the old-fashioned fish market, visit museums and indulge in the city's well-known pistachios.
