Dionysos-Penteli: a walk to the ancient marble quarry

This is a very surprising walk on the northern slopes of Mt. Penteli, famous for its Penteli Marble.

enjoy dense forest and views as far as Lake Marathon
walk past 3 churches in the countryside
visit the ancient marble quarry turned into an open air museum

The walk is about 6km and lasts 3 hours including the stops at the churches & things to see.
Because the path is stony and the elevation gain is 270m, one needs to be reasonably fit.
We recommend good walking shoes or boots.
Take picnic lunch & water bottle.
