No matter how many times I have been to Poros, I am always fascinated by the alleys behind the port. The best moment is when I walk from the alleys to the ridge of the hill towards the church of Agioi Anargyroi. From there, I enjoy the enchanting houses of Poros and part of the olive groves of Trizinia just across.
The walk to the monastery brings me to one of the best beaches among cypresses and pines and if I am there early in the morning, I pass by the monastery to see the monks and admire its original iconostasis. Just outside the monastery there is a very sweet coffee shop owner with excellent lemonade.
On my way I see Katerina's restaurant which I always visit when I'm on the island. I always take part in the preparation of the food and I learn something new from her excellent cooking. The nice atmosphere, the healthy diet and the tranquility of this little paradise, make me feel not want to go home.
Devil's Bridge and the Asklipieio just outside the village of Troizina, where the Legendary Theseus was born, are two places worth visiting while leaving Poros behind for a morning. Nature on the one hand and the views on the other are really worth it.
