You can travel to Eretria in many ways. If you arrive early, a visit to the archaeological site of Eretria is recommended. It is open until 16.00.
Today an easy circular route from Eretria to Gimno is suggested. If you don't have a bike with you and you have rented one from us, you should pick it up before you start. After heading for 3 km on a flat road, you will reach Eretria's inland. You cycle up for 5 km to get to Gimno, have a coffee at the square and then cycle gradually down to the west for 7 km. You will enjoy the wonderful sea views. After a short steep ascent you make the final descent to the shore through a wonderful cypress road.
Total cycling distance: 25 km
After cycling, early at noon a visit to Lykos winery is suggested. The winery is open until 16:30.
Demanding Cycling route. Start from Eretria, go across to Skala Oropou and cross the Halkoutsi, Dilesi, Chalkida and back to Eretria route. 150m ascent /150m descent.

The four-star Avantis Suites Hotel takes its name after the ancient name of the inhabitants of the island of Evia, the Avantes. The complex is built right on the beach south of the city of Eretria and about 800 m from the city center.
It is located about 96 kilometers from the center of Athens. It is easily accessible either by car from the newly built bridge that connects the island with the mainland or by ferry from the port of Oropos (time at sea 20 minutes).
The complex has a friendly family environment combining simplicity with comfort. It has a swimming pool for adults and children as well as a playground.

Ferry tickets are not included in the package rate
The car is not essential in order to reach Evia unless you have your bike with you.
You can come from Oropos or from Chalkida by bus if you wish.
If you choose to come from Oropos to Eretria by ferry, keep in mind that ferry tickets are not included in the package price. The ferries run often, approximately every hour. During summer months the frequency can be every half hour.
The cost is 2.00 euros per person, per way and for the car 6.00 euros per way. No reservation is required, usually there is availability.
Finally, there is the possibility to go to Eretria directly by bus. As soon as you arrive at Eretria, the hotel's minibus will come to pick you up from the local bus station.
