Galatas - The Gate to the Peloponnesos

Galatas is a typical Greek village on the Peloponnese coast, full of traditional charm and a relaxed atmosphere. A short water taxi or ferry ride—just about 10 minutes—takes you to the island of Poros, located directly across the water.

Poros is a classic Greek island, known for its beautiful coves and stunning sandy beaches. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities for watersports, such as paddleboarding and kayaking.

Poros is also perfect for exploring on foot—follow the island’s walking trails on your own or take the route we’ve mapped out for you in our app.

    Practical Info

We recommend traveling from Piraeus with the slow ferry, without a car. This way, you reduce the ecological footprint of your trip. Onboard, you’ll have time to relax and ease into the holiday mood.

Once on Poros, you can take the small ferry across to Galatas.

Don’t forget: transportation to and from your accommodation is included, so there’s no need to carry your luggage.

Finally, we suggest staying a bit longer on the island and renting an e-bike to get around. Of course, we’ll be happy to help you arrange this.
