Our sustainability journey
Tourism is an industry that has a high impact on the world. Of course, the positive effects are unlimited: discovering new cultures and beautiful places, meeting new people, sharing ideas and visions … However, we also realize that our industry has a negative impact, both on the climate in general as on (over)crowded locations. Therefore, we try to make efforts to keep our ecological footprint as low as possible.
We always try to choose locally-owned, small-scale hotels where possible, where the character of the location is expressed. With the selected hotels, we know you will be in good hands and get the chance to have a talk and learn more about the local habits and culture when wishing so.
We recommend trying local dishes, preferably made with locally sourced ingredients. Opt for lunch at a small-town taverna or dine at a family-run restaurant to support the local economy and have an optimal experience. And just, because they are the best ;-)
We are committed to conserving water. Therefore, we request that refrain from washing towels daily unless specifically requested by guests staying for more than one night. This way, we can limit the water usage together.
Additionally, we find it important that single-use plastic is limited at all costs. Therefore, bringing reusable water bottles is recommended. Almost everywhere in Greece, tap water is drinkable. During your hotel stay, we suggest to use your personal soap and/or shampoo and leave the mini’s of the hotel unopened.
With these tips, we hope to collaborate together to limit our negative influence and create a better tourism industry.
